The following guidelines apply to Mining Review Africa Magazine and miningreview.com
While Mining Review Africa tends to produce most of its main feature articles itself, we welcome contributions from knowledgeable people within and associated with the mining industry in Africa. Any such contributions that add value to the readers of the magazine will be most seriously considered for publication.
Unsolicited submissions are welcome, but you may want to contact the editor, antonior@absamail.com to discuss your idea for an article beforehand, so as to avoid wasting time and effort. We will give priority to material prepared exclusively for Mining Review Africa.
Ideal Length: Two – three pages; approximately 1,600 – 2,400 words, depending on the number of graphics.
Graphic elements: Two or three which illustrate the topic under discussion. Include captions for all graphics.
Material specification: Text is emailed as an MSWord document to the editor, antonior@absamail.com
Headlines: Maximum seven words, preferably less.
Photos and graphic elements are emailed to the editor: jpg files at 300 dpi, typically ranging between 350 kB and 1.75 MB.
Note: PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE PHOTOS OR GRAPHIC ELEMENTS IN THE TEXT DOCUMENT. Please send them as separate attachments.
Supplier & Vendor News - Sourced from: Vendors of Equipment or Services.
In each edition of Mining Review Africa we publish selected articles supplied by vendors of equipment and services.
Topics: Any aspect of the mining industry from a commercial/technical viewpoint.
We consider all submissions, but a greater portion of those published are those that best illustrate how the service or technology is being implemented/supplied. Example, we will give preference to a story on how specific pumps are being applied or supplied to a particular project/s or operation/s, over generic articles on the merits of a range of particular pumps.
This means we are ideally, but not exclusively, looking for discussion of services/technology/supply contracts in context of how they are being applied/supplied to existing projects and operations. We are also looking for stories that discuss new technology trends and offer insights valuable to decision makers such as mine management and engineers.
