Perth, Australia --- MININGREVIEW.COM --- 03 March 2010 - Extract Resources Limited ‒ an Australian-based uranium exploration and development company primarily focused on Namibia ‒ has announced the appointment of Jonathan Leslie as the group’s CEO with immediate effect.

Revealing this in a statement issued here, the company pointed out that Leslie was a highly experienced mining executive with extensive operational and management knowledge of the global mining industry, which included experience in uranium marketing and project management.

He was on the board of Rio Tinto PLC for 9 years, and CEO of two of Rio Tinto’s major product groups. Leslie had broad experience of uranium marketing, having spent four years responsible for Rio Tinto’s worldwide uranium sales into the Far East and Asia. His involvement in uranium continued with his appointment as managing director of Rössing Uranium, where he developed close relationships with the Namibian government and related agencies.

More recently, Leslie served as executive chairman for the major AIM-listed mining company Nikanor plc, formed to develop the world class KOV copper/cobalt project in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prior to his role with Nikanor, he was CEO of Sappi Limited, from 2003 to 2006.
